They formed in 1989 and fronted by Neil Hannon. In September 2025, The Divine Comedy released their latest album, Rainy Sunday Afternoon. Having previously collaborated on websites for albums such as Foreverland, Office Politics, and Venus, Cupid, Folly & Time, the band’s HQ partnered with us again to design and develop a site that reflected the new album’s aesthetic while providing a seamless user experience.

Objectives

Promote the new album with a visually cohesive design.
Maintain a clean, responsive layout.
Create an accessible archive of the band’s extensive catalogue.
Ensure fast performance and easy content management.

Our approach

Design
We mirrored the album’s visual style, photographed by Kevin Westenberg and designed by Matthew Cooper, throughout the site for brand consistency.

Development
Built on Craft CMS, enabling effortless updates. The band can add videos, audio clips, lyrics, and purchase links for physical and digital albums in just a few steps.

Performance
Implemented TailwindCSS, caching with Blitz, and delivery via Cloudflare to ensure exceptional speed and reliability.

Results
A visually striking, responsive website aligned with the album’s design.
Streamlined content management for the band’s team.
Enhanced user experience with fast load times and easy navigation.
A comprehensive archive showcasing decades of work.
